UNDERSUITS

Our customers have to operate in many different conditions. We manufacture a range of undergarments specifically for water operations.

Base Layer Garments

An undersuit that is warm enough in summer may not be warm enough in the winter. A base layer can provide the extra insulation needed with very little increase in bulk. Ours are made from a modern soft and stretchy technical sport fabric. Smooth one side and brushed the other they are both warm and high wicking to keep your skin dry. They have proved themselves on expeditions from the Arctic to the Himalayas and are currently supplied to the MoD for special services use. They are available one piece or with separate top and long johns.

Woolly Bears

These are very effective dry suit liners. The acrylic fur pile is warm and breathable without being too bulky. They are very comfortable, with an excellent service life. They are not very windproof or waterproof.

They are used by divers, fire brigades, cold store workers, fishermen, many outdoor workers and the police.

SuperBear

A very comfortable garment providing a little more insulation than the basic woolly bear. Deep Acrylic fur pile with a tough wind and shower-proof outer shell, 2-way zip and two pockets. The big advantage is that they are practical to wear when not under a dry suit which makes them much more versatile.

Compressed Thinsulate 400 gram

Intended for deep diving work, they are warm even when little air is in the dry suit. They provide good insulation even if the suit should be damaged and flooded, so are particularly of interest where a long decompression commitment, or other circumstances, may make a quick return to the surface undesirable.
Thinsulate is selected for work related use as it is probably the only insulating material that has been independently tested to prove it's effectiveness. It will retain a significant proportion of it's effectiveness even when wet. It is however relatively expensive. Polar Bears are a 3M licensed Thinsulate manufacturer.
